THE MAJESTIC 20

Rating: @@@@@ http://www.downtownsilverspring.com/

I went to see the movie "Hitch" at a The Majestic movie theater located in Downtown Silver Spring, Maryland. TheMajestic is a 20 screen theater with stadium seating. There is free parking on the weekends and after 6 o'clock PM during the week at the Wayne Avenue Parking Garage. The atmosphere is really nice and it is the perfect date spot, especially for the spring and summer!!

There are several restaurants and stores located around the theater: Austin Grill, Panera Bread, Red Lobster, Macaroni Grill, Potbelly Sandwich Works, Eggspectation, Starbucks, Lebanese Taverna, Chick-fil-A and Cold Stone Creamery. Pier One, Men's Wearhouse, Bombay, Ann Taylor Loft, Ulta Salon, Borders Books, Storehouse and many others.

If you live in the area or plan to visit the metro-dc area soon you have to check this spot out!!

HITCH

Rating: @@@@@ http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/hitch/

Hitch was a fantastic movie. It is the perfect movie to see during the season of love. Will Smith, (Super-Hottie!!!) , portrayal of Alex "Hitch" Hitchens, the dating doctor, was fantastic. I am a hopeless romantic and I loved the ethics of "Hitch!" He was not willing to work with anyone who just wanted to get laid. He only worked with men that truly loved the women they were pursuing and I sincerely appreciated that. The main character "Hitch" worked with during the movie was Albert Brennaman (Kevin James). Kevin James was the perfect Albert, a loveable teddy bear!! I overheard some women in the bathroom saying how much they loved him and that there was really nothing wrong with him!
As a woman , this movie helped me realize how many great men I have probably overlooked and how hard it is for men to pursue someone they are interested in. Most importantly communication! The foolishness of Sara Melas (Eva Mendes), screamed at all viewers in relationships how much easier a womans' life would be if she would just ask those questions that linger in the back of her mind. This movie will definitely take the viewer through a range of emtions (isn't that what love does) joy, excitement, happiness, humiliation, rage, hope and relief! What a wonderful movie!!!

RAY

Ray is an extraordinary movie. Jamiee Foxx's portrayal of Ray Charles is incredible. His apperance, voice, walk, and mannerisms made me forget I was watching an actor within minutes! The supporting cast for this movie was excellent too, especially the woman who portrayed Ray's mother. She moved me to tears several times! After seing this movie, you will have a new found respect for Ray Charles. He was a phenomenal man! I don't know what is more amazing, the fact the Ray Charles was bold enough to take the many risk he did in order to be a huge success reagrdless of his handicap, his unlimited musical talents, or the fact that this blind man maintained control of his assets while accomplishing his goals. I highly recommend this movie. It is about triumph over adversity, love, passion, and the joys music can create in your life.
If you have not bought the soundtrack run to go get it. Ray Charles was such a clever business man that he went into his own vault to select the songs the soundtrack to his own movie.

TROY

Rating: @@@

Troy was a great movie. I thought it was a little slow at the beginning but the war scenes were incredible! Brad Pitt was really gorgeous, it looked like he gained a lot of muscle and mass(vavavavoom!) Even though this movie is not at the top of my "must see" list, it was worth watching just to see how this legendary story was recreated through costuming, scenery, and most importantly the incredible acting. I would never forgive myself if I did not mention Orlanda Bloom! He was, of course, very easy on the eyes but his character seemed to be very weak in comparison to the great warrior Achilles. www.pantheon.org/articles/a/achilles.html
